A few items that are used when designing a floral design for a competition or just for personal use.
This here is a Tulip that also had the petals gently folded back and gives the flower a different look. Tulips will follow the light when placed in a design which means if it is flopping over and when it has light on it, then it will stand up. Interesting
This was a floral design that was entered into a competition and the backdrop is what brings more attention to the design and the creativity.

Bill Bauer standing next to one of his many Bonsai trees he shapes and grows. He stated that he prefers shaping Deciduous Trees over Coniferous Trees. His mentor is from New Jersey, Dave from All Shapes Bonsai. Bills love started in the 1990’s.
This is a Korean Hornbean Started this year 2025 What you see is a piece of deadwood that was drilled along the side and he had placed a piece of a live tree branch into it and it is now growing out of this deadwood.
This is also a Juniper which Bill will shape into a Bonsai for a lucky member to win this Door Prize.
Satsuka Azalea which he started in 2014. When this blooms, the flowers are bigger then a normal Azalea that is planted in the ground.
As our club conducts our normal meeting, Bill begins the transformation of this juniper to start its growing journey of a Bonsai tree. He stated that he has a tree at home that is over 30 yrs old.
Bill looks at this little gem and focus on balance and shape. During the program he mentioned Longwood Gardens has a Bonsai trees that are over 400 and 700 years old.
Bill uses wire to shape the branches in direction that will give this a balance design once in the pot. Bill stated that this hobby can be very expensive but from what I see, it is very therapeutic. The wire should be removed 2-3 months after so the tree branch does not grow onto the branch.
Member Sandy W was the winner of the Door Prize. Bill hands her the sweet little Juniper that he shaped and potted. Instructions were given to Sandy and the members on how to care for this and other Bonsai.
This young man is Nate H. He became a member in 2024 and I was finally able to snap his photo. Thanks for joining. The Club appreciates having many helpful hands…not just women’s hands.

Dec., 2 2024 Day 1 at the Greens Workshops. Making wreath is Pat H and Rita B is checking the different greens.
These are the workers that are very important for without their job cutting the greens, everything else would be at a stand still.
Miss Charlotte is one of the Original and dedicated cutters. Thank you and the wreath makers appreciate you.
Apples that are waxed and decorated with different greens and added berries. Makes a small gift for someone with little space in their home that needs that holiday touch. ( please do not eat these apples or give them to the animals because of the waxed coating on them)

Looks like Bonnie is surprised that one of her designs was purchased…now only kidding, she is very talented.
Charlotte M and Mary K are guarding the yummies or trying not to eat them. All kidding aside, they are waiting for Me to make my purchase which was a hard decision .

The Duffy’s Home
A beautiful location on Knoxlyn Rd which once was the home of the Artist Dale Gallon.
A piece of Heaven
This area is next to Marsh Creek. The running water over the rocks made for great background music.
The Perfect Seat
Joan H., resting on the stones of the BBQ/Fireplace (not lit), while enjoying some food. Just think of the many people back in the day that have cooked on this, who may have shared many stories about their day and families many years ago to present day. If only we could sit quietly and place our ears onto those stones and hear the stories they absorbed, like the sounds of horses coming down the road and over the bridge. Maybe the sound of wagons that carried supplies for the towns people going down the road. Today these large rocks are again witness to more stories to hold. History
Historic Building with a great story
This was once Dale Gallon's Studio where he painted many of his works of Art. Dried Paint still on the wood floors inside. Sign has date on back that read 1850-1900 but not sure if that was just the sign or the building. Model Chris S
Nestled back from the house near the Creek
A shaded area that kept the members cool on this very warm day. By end of the day temperature reached 87.
Marsh Creek
Just imagine how many Civil War soldiers stopped here for a drink or to let their horse cool off . This Creek runs under Sachs Bridge not far from this location
The Duffy’s Homestead
The Main House dates back to early 1700's. The Red Building was the first Studio that Dale Gallon used. The he then added a section onto a barn (not in photo) with many windows to bring in more natural light and that is where he did many more paintings. The Stone Bench over looks the water moving over and around the many large rocks and boulders. A very Meditative location.
